and a few years back, when point buy was first available in "shadow run"...
I started making a rigger/cyberdoc hybrid character. The concept of my character was a "Rejected cyberware engineer".
Rather than sett-up a chop-shop somewhere in some gang turf and take up the life of a street-doc...

I was going to go on missions. I looked through the lists of mundane equipment, as well as cyberware. 
An Idea dawned on me. I wasn't going to put my body through the meat grinder and replace all my squishy bits.
Oh no.

I made the "first" exo-suit... so to speak. 
I had reasoned with my G.M. that the tech was there. 
Before you could say "Bubble Gum Crisis" My Techie character was on the front-lines.
